#20 Closet Organization

ROYGBIV: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. The order of the rainbow and the order of the clothes in my closet. By doing this, you can ensure your closet will always be in tip-top shape.

You should also organize by the style of clothing. In order for it to be visually pleasing, start with the longer items on the left. This includes formal dresses and pants/jeans. I start with my formal dresses (in ROYGBIV order,) then my jeans, then heavy coats like jean jackets and fur coats, then sweatshirts, casual/going out dresses, sun dresses, formal long sleeve shirts, formal short sleeve shirts, tank tops, and then finally casual shirts. However, every once in a while I have to deviate from my methods. This typically only happens when on a trip/staying somewhere.

When I am not using my own closet, it all depends on the set up given to me. There is usually not as much space when in a hotel or place of temporary residence. So, in those situations, I tend to only hang nice clothes and fold everything else either on a shelf or in a drawer. As long as the clothing is still organized by color and style I am pleased because you have to work with what you have.

While these methods of closet organization may not work for everyone, it is what works best for me. It is visually pleasing and for some odd reason significantly reduces my stress levels when done correctly. Screen Shot 2018-10-23 at 12.18.06 AM.png
